BWAHAHA!!! I’m actually early for once! It’s still Wednesday. ๐
So today, I’m thinking about mindsets!!!!! Oh the funness of it all!
Hmmm….how to put this…..
Okay. When you get…mad. That’s your choice. You don’t have to be mad. Don’t choose to dwell on your anger. It accomplishes nothing. You can choose to laugh, smile, or be happy about it. Shrug it off. Turn the other cheek. ๐
If you get sad, pray. God is there for you. Don’t sink low into the ground. Rise up and smash your sadness through the floor!!
If you get stressed, breathe. Read your bible. Pray, play music, sing, dance, exercise, take a shower, or just talk to a friend. Sometimes, your problems aren’t as big as they seem. They’re definitely not bigger than God. He can handle it. Cast your cares on Him. ๐
This post is so much shorter….lemme see if I can fix that….;-)
ANGER
So, let’s say that….my brother walks up to me and punches me in the nose. Automatic reaction? PUNCH HIM BACK!!!!!! HARD!!!!!
Hm. That’s not very Christ-like, is it? Lets do this instead.
1: Process.
Take time to figure out what just happened and how to react.
2: Breathe.
Don’t see red immediately. Think over your reaction and ask yourself what you think God would say.
3: Pray.
Pray for that person. Ask forgiveness for them and ask that you might not be blinded by your anger to sin in the same way.
4: Laugh.
That. will. drive. them. absolutely. insane.
5: Walk off. Act like it didn’t phase you a bit. (Easier typed than done…)
SADNESS/DEPRESSION
Let’s go with the first thing that comes to my weird old head.
“My boyfriend/girlfriend broke up with me!!”
1: Be sad.
By all means!! This is kind of important. Feel the pain.
2: Control your emotions.
No one else can. If you don’t run them, they’ll run you. Don’t let your grief consume you.
3: Think about it.
Why did they break up with you? Can that help you improve? Comfort yourself with the knowledge that God has a plan for you. Maybe that person’s not the right one. Maybe it’s not time yet. Maybe it’s a test.
4: Don’t rush it.
Don’t move on and instantly try to find a new significant other. Don’t try to get a new significant other just to make your ex angry or jealous. Oh and if you really think that you and your ex are meant to be, don’t stalk them. Don’t follow them around constantly asking to get back together. You’re just slimming your chances.
5: Let go and let God.
I’m tellin’ you. He’s got a plan for you. Let Him take over. He’ll run your life a heck of a lot better than you ever could.
STRESS/ANXIETY
Let’s say….that….you’ve….got a test coming up.
Okay. You’ve got a big test coming up — an exam. That’s it. An exam. This exam determines whether you pass or fail. It disregards everything else you’ve ever done. This one test decides your future. Here are your choices.
[Scenario A]
You’re a bookworm. 24/7 studying. No time to eat, sleep, breathe, watch TV, or play video games. No talking unless you’re verbally studying with yourself. No human contact for 6 months. You’ve gotta be ready.
So you’ve studied for this test. Non-stop. (Obviously.) You know the material better than your name. (Partially because you forgot your name because you studies so much…)
Anyway, you’ve memorised this stuff. Easy as pi. But you’re still worried. Nervous as heck. You can’t calm down. After all, this decides your future. What if you mess up?! What if your sibling/BFF/significant other (not that you have one. Who’s got time for one of those?)/arch nemesis gets a better score than you?! The world might end!!!!!!
*GASP!!!!* THIS IS TOO HORRIBLE TO BEAR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!

Here’s what you need to do.
1: Realise that I’m kidding.
Mostly. (If you are like this, seek professional help, I’m not really the right person to ask.)
2: Breathe.
So what if it decides your fate?
3: Dude, seriously. Chill.
Try your hardest. It’s going to put you where you should be based on your answers. Be honest. If you try to hard you might get stuck with a life that you can’t handle. Know your strengths as well as your weaknesses.
4: Guess what. Pray.
Ask God for help, guidance, and support. Ask for peace of mind and maybe a little bit of that patience stuff that everyone’s talking about….
5: Live.
Don’t be afraid to do things besides study. Get outside of your comfort zone. Step out of the box. (I’m not saying you should go party hard 24/7, I’m just saying don’t be afraid to leave the house once a week to get the mail.)
[Scenario B]
GAME ON!!!!!! Dude! Did you see that zombie?! Kill it for me, will ya? I’ve gotta destroy these aliens!! Studying? What exam?! Nah, it’ll wait. I can do it later. Just a few more levels………
(Or whatever your hobby may be. Just insert procrastination.)
Then at the last minute you look something like this…
AAAGGGGHHHH!!!!!!! SLEEP?! ARE YOU KIDDING?!?! I HAVE TO STUDY!!!!!!!! THE EXAM IS IN SIX HOURS!!!!!!!!!!!! MUST……CRAM…..EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! MORE COFFEE!!!!!! MAKE IT WITH REDBULL!!!!!!! I MUST ACE!!!!!!!! [insert crazed grin of lunacy]
Yeah…..you need help.
It’s okay, I’m not shunning you. I’m the same way sometimes. More often than I care to admit.
1: Chill.
Yeah, you should’ve studied. No, it’s not a great habit nor is it healthy.
2: Take tips from the people who reflect Scenario A.
(Yes, I just said that. Sorry.)
3: Learn to take notes and study.
Sorry. It’s kind of a must.
4: Chill. But not too much.
Relaxing is always a good tip. Don’t overdose on relaxation.
5: Learn from your mistakes.
Learn your strengths and weaknesses. Find a trusted friend who can and will check in on you and ask you if you’re doing what you agreed to do the way you agreed to do it. You can totally do this!! ๐
