Hey y’all! Sorry I’m super late, I totally skipped May. >.<
I’m on the way home from vacation. My little hobbit friend and her parents took me to the beach. 🙂
That’s really a bad idea for people like me.
Really bad.
Super unsmart.
I got sunburned.
6 times.
But it’s fun and totally worth it. I loved having the opportunity to go. 🙂
So yeah. I’m a deathly pale redhead with sensitive skin.
Some say that I don’t only sunburn, but I also moon-burn and star-burn.
It has been implied that an unlit candle was burning me.
Haha. -_-
So yeah. Anyway, I learned a lot. That’s just how I work. I didn’t really expect to go to the beach to relax. Yes, I did relax a bit and that was lovely, but I really went to experience new things and to see things in a different way. Call me boring, weird, insane, whatever you want. It may or may not be true.
But I don’t think my little hobbit friend finds me boring. When I wasn’t trying to learn, I was shark fishing, singing at the top of my lungs, writing silly songs, or finding stingrays. We did a lot of crazy stuff. We found a lizard and named him Larry, found a frog and named him Fred, an evilly demonically possessed ladybug and named him Leroy, and found two kittens that we named Merry and Pippin.
I showed her Lord of the Rings and got her healthily obsessed, we watched old movies as well as new movies. We swam in the ocean, gallantly fought the waves in a boat until we were “Home From The Sea” and found a ton of shells, slugs, and stingrays. We threw a (stuffed) frog at each other in the car, fell off of everything we sat on, and laughed constantly. We have new code names and funny catch phrases as well as some odd dances and a cool wave.
So yeah. We’re insane. But we had fun while staying safe (most of the time) and we were completely legal. Because we’re awesome like that. 😎
Now. Since I’m done rambling about my trip, I’ll tell you what I learned.
Life.
You’ve gotta live it.
Live it to the fullest and never give up.
–When you’re tired, chill with a friend and have some fun. It’ll recharge you for at least a little while.
–When you’re down, chill with a friend and have some fun. It’ll cheer ya up and help you forget why you were upset.
–When you’re homesick, remember the good times and I promise you, it’s all but impossible for the good times to be outnumbered by the bad.
–When you feel alone, know that you’re not. Ever. Never in a million years. You’ve always got God and friends to rely on.
–When you get annoyed, just know that it won’t last. All good things must come to an end which means that the crappy stuff’s gotta end too. Right? Right?
–When you feel like you’re sticking out and you can’t fit in, when you’re the third wheel (or the fourth wheel or the fifth wheel or whatever wheel), when you feel like you just absolutely can not fit in, know that it’s okay.
You’ll never always fit in.
–When you’re being weird, be weird.
–If you can find a friend who’ll be weird with you, never let them go and always be weird.
–If you start using a British accent, be careful. That decision is not easily undone. (I was talking like a Brit fluently for 5 days straight.)
–If you want to blog, that’s a dadgum shame.
1: you’re at the beach and you shouldn’t be blogging.
2: you’re wasting your preciously valuable beach time!
3: good luck finding time 😂
–Staying busy is okay. Â You’ll have time for everything eventually, don’t sweat it.
–Having a special song for every occasion (Home From the Sea) is über appropriate all the time. All the time. Like, every time you go to lunch, supper, the beach, the marina, the dock, or anywhere else that requires going home afterwards.
If you introduce your friend to it, you’ll never stop singing it.
–True friends cannot be replaced. They’re so amazing that it’s nearly impossible or impossible for them to annoy you. If anyone else said or did it they’d be dead, but since they’re amazing, they manage to get away with it.
–If you can spend a week with someone without either of you wishing to strangle each other, you’re probably pretty good friends. 😉
So that’s just about it! 🙂
Now that I’m finishing it, it’s been about a week since I got Home From the Sea…
I got kinda busy, but I’ll explain more about that in the next post….
Thanks for all of the positive feedback!
Please check out my other posts!!
Thanks for reading all of this. 🙂
Much love
