Okay, yeah, today I’m gonna talk about love.
Love is patient,
Love is kind.
Love is annoying.
It does not envy.
It does not boast.
It does not keep record of wrongs.
It does not always make me very happy.
It is not proud.
It is not rude.
It is not easy.
Love is fragile.
Love is a gift.
Love is mysterious sometimes…
~Emily Green
That poem was based off of a Bible verse and then added to.
I like the reason she added on to it and I’ll explain more.
She wrote, and I quote,
“Yeah, I’m sorry, I butchered a Bible verse. But seriously, I kinda hate love sometimes. It’s been changing so much over the years that I don’t even know anymore.”
She’s kinda right. Love has changed. It’s also staying the same though.
Think about it.
Love is love is love. It always has been and always will be. No matter how much society mangles and destroys it’s image, love will always be what it is.
Which leads us to a lovely point of what the heck is love?
I’m so glad you asked.
I brought a friend today.
Olaf, care to help?
“Love is…..putting someone else’s needs before yours.”
So when I say that I love you, I’m not saying that I’m gay or whatever you want to call it. I’m not. I’m not saying that I’m madly in love with you or that I want to date or marry you. I’m not and I don’t.
I’m simply saying that you’re a beautiful child of God and a person of worth. You’re a fantastic person. You’ve got your own special qualities that set you apart and make you different from everyone else. You’re extraordinary. I love you for who you are and for whose you are. You’ve been out through a battle that’s all yours.
You’re more than likely on one of three paths.
1: Success!! You battled your demon(s) and it’s made you stronger.
2: You may still be battling, but you’re gonna make it. You’re almost there!!
3: You have demons everywhere. You’re lost and “alone”. Lemme tell you something. You’re never alone and lost is a temporary thing. You’re gonna take those demons and beat the crap outta them. I know it.
Anyway, my thoughts are this easy:
Everyone deserves to be loved.
Everyone should know that they’re loved. Someone cares. Never give up.
That’s my goal. I’m setting out to let everyone know the Good News.
Christ died for us while we were yet sinners. That proves God’s love for us. You are forgiven and loved.
That’s the best news I can give you.
Back on track.
Love is an action, love is a feeling, love is perfect.
When I say that love is an action, I mean that I can perform a simple task displayinng my feelings toward you. (You get the basic picture, right?)
Question of the day. (That I’m gonna answer)
How do you show someone that you love them?
Well Becca, I can hug ’em.
Good.
Kiss ’em.
Tell ’em
Pull their hair. (Gently!!!!!)
Poke ’em. (Gently!!!!!)
Tease ’em. (Depending on the person!! Maybe make sure you know ’em well first.)
I guess my point is that you don’t have to be “romantic” or even sweet when you’re showing love.
Heck, when I see my little sisters or my cousin, I’m hardly ever sweet, loving, gentle, and kind.
I’m just me and they know that that’s how I work and we all love each other. (Sorry about the Disney ending 😉 )
Many years ago, men didn’t show emotion. They showed no pain. The never cried. Some were never seen smiling. Some of them shows love by scolding or yelling (so I’ve been told) or if you were lucky, a pat on the head.
Love is not all about romance.
Ah, love…..A word that is ridiculously overused. -_-
So overused. Obnoxiously freakishly overused.
“Omg I love those shoes!!”
Do you really care for/about those shoes?
(Just a friendly suggestion, don’t answe “yes” even if you do because a lot of people might think that you’ve got major priority issues…just sayin’….)
I’m pretty guilty of “I LOVE THIS SONG!!!!!!!!!!!”
I don’t really love it, I just really enjoy listening to it.
I should specify.
“I’m in love!!”
Okay, this one’s not always wrong, but it’s definitely not always right.
It doesn’t mean you’re in love just because you’ve known each other for a record breaking…..
….ten minutes.
(Even if you did sing a cool duet with him.)
Just sayin’.
So when is it good to say “love”?
Well I’m just so glad you asked. 🙂
If you see someone (that you know) who’s a bit down, you can walk up to ’em and tell ’em tha you love ’em.
Ya know, I’m trying to come up with other examples, but that’s about it. If you see a friend, tell ’em you love ’em. You never know what you got ’till it’s gone.
Well, that’s about all I’ve got for today.
Now you know why I tell you that I love you. 🙂
Because it’s true.
Anyway, thanks for reading. I really appreciate it. If you liked it, please share it and share the love!
Tell someone you love ’em today.
You’re awesome. Never stop. Always be you.
Much love
xx becca
